Total User Experience for Miele@home InfoControl
Household appliances linked in a network allow to see the current operating status at any time. The new Miele@home InfoControl is a mobile device which receives this information, e.g. from the washing machine or the oven, anywhere inside and outside one's home. On behalf of Miele & Cie. KG, User Interface Design GmbH (UID) conducted a usability engineering to carry out a total user experience examination of Miele@home InfoControl with subsequent evaluation. Afterwards, Miele implemented the optimization ideas.
Apart from good operability of Miele InfoControl, the interaction and information exchange between the InfoControl and other installed Miele appliances was essential. In addition to the operation of the device, the informational value and usefulness of the operating manual was also considered.
Miele@home InfoControl has become available in spring 2005.
